About the Speaker
Eric Edwards is a three-time entrepreneur. He co-founded Axiomate, a business advisory firm that specializes in business acquisition strategy, due-diligence and deal execution for investors and mid-sized companies seeking growth through acquisition in 2001.
In 1999, he was one of the founding executives of Petroleum Place, Inc., a B2B Internet marketplace serving the upstream petroleum industry. Petroleum Place was named to Forbes 200 Best of Business market makers and is one of first B-2-B companies to achieve a positive cash flow. As Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Edwards played a key role in the development of the business plan, including identifying and quantifying the market, developing the revenue model and recruiting and hiring many of the vital executives. He also had a key role in raising nearly $100 million in seed and mezzanine financing with significant interface with venture capitalists and underwriters.
In 1997, Edwards founded CALL U.S. Technical Services, Inc., and served as its president. Call US offered integrated training and remote technical services organization to supporting developers of Microsoft NT resident products. During his tenure, Call US acquired a company and raised $800,000 in outside funding.
Prior to starting his first business, Edwards held various management positions with Pacer/CATS/CSS, Upside Management, Sigma Design, Ernst & Young and KPMG Peat Marwick.
