1. What is Axiomate?
We are a team of entrepreneurs and former executives of high growth companies. We perform due diligence and other assessment services to determine the ability, effort and results of the management team's execution of its business plan. The name "Axiomate" means to deliver simple truths.
2. Who are your customers?
Our customers include venture capitalists, angel investors, banks, attorneys and businesses that buy other businesses.
We help those contemplating an investment in or purchase of a business as well as help our customers understand the barriers to performance of troubled or under-performing companies. In addition, we can provide ongoing business monitoring services, including report aggregation and analysis and collateral review.
3. Why should we use you?
We get dirty and look under the hood. Though we have a structured due diligence approach (to ensure quality), it is our vast and diversified experience that allows us to identify problems and opportunities quickly and, more importantly, to understand the impact of such issues on the business' ability to execute. We work quickly because we believe elapsed time is opportunity lost.
We don't think of ourselves so much a part of the go/no-go decision as we do as providers and evaluators of pertinent information. Our purpose is to ensure that you as the investor/buyer/lender know what you have or what you are getting. We give you the information you need to negotiate the right price and thereafter manage the business without compromise to the window of opportunity. We can also monitor the business post-transaction.
For the business buying another, we provide structured due diligence. We train your management team and help them understand the due diligence process. We then provide our trained experts in support of your due diligence effort. We ensure that all bases are covered.
4. What is so unique about you?
Our deep experience working as executives of venture-funded companies, both successful and troubled, means we understand management motivations and techniques. We can "sniff-out" problems very quickly (the "Art.") Our structured approach (the "Science") ensures consistency and thoroughness in our work.
5. How do you work?
We work in small, dynamic teams (2 or 3 persons) selected consistent with the exposure of the target. We plan the engagement with the customer, perform fieldwork of 2 to 4 days, and then return to the office where our fieldwork is reviewed and issues are discussed. The issues of the engagement will usually result in some additional work to better understand and assess such issues, and formulate our recommendations. This work would likely involve some follow-up with the management of the target and/or the customer. A comprehensive report, with schedules, is assembled. The key points, impact and recommendations are discussed with the customer. The whole process is quick (generally under 10 days.)
6. How do you charge?
Though we have a structured approach, our specific work is often customized and our fees are set specifically to the agreed scope of work. In general, however, our fees scale with the size of the deal. You will find our fees are very competitive compared to other consultants, public accountants and attorneys, many of which perform only a limited subset of our service offering. In certain circumstances, a portion of our fees can be paid in stock.
